TNA includes a program called PC Clock that enables you to run a software base clock on a computer that can be used for TNA clockings. Once installed, clockings can be generated using the keypad or by using the mouse and clicking the required keys on the PC Clock displayed on the screen of the computer on which the program has been installed.
PC Clock can be used with all levels of TNA except Unified and must be installed on a networked Windows computer.
To install TNA PC Clock on a network computer that will be used for generating In and Out Clockings, proceed as follows:
At the computer where the TNA PC Clock is to be installed, insert the TNA Installation CD and when the TNA Install window is displayed, select the Accessories install option and the select the Install PC Clock button.
The options available are:
Clock In Sound. This option is used to select a wav sound that will sound when an In clocking is performed.
Clock Out Sound. This option is used to select a wav sound that will sound when an Out clocking is performed.
Error Sound. This option is used to select a wav sound that will sound when an error occurs when performing a clocking.
IP*Port.*This is the Port that will be used by this computer to communicate with the TNA Server. Take note of this IP Port being used (by default this is set to 6380 but can also be changed as required). You are also going to require the TCP/IP address of this computer.
Pad cards to (digits). This option will pad the card numbers to the selected length with leading zeros.
Enable IN/Out buttons. If disabled, the clock will toggle the employee direction when they clock. If enabled, the employee must click on an IN or an OUT button to clock.
TNA System Configuration
To setup TNA to receive the clockings from the computer running TNA PC Clock, proceed as follows:
Using the Configuration module, go to the Setup dropdown menu, select the Features option and then select the Hardware tab.
Ensure that the Using CapeClock hardware and Clocks connected via TCP/IP check boxes are selected. TNA Server must be running to enable the Cards information to be sent to the TNA PC Clock and also for the PC Clock to send the inputted clocking information to the system.
When the _Information_window is displayed, select the status that is to be applied to the cards being sent to the TNA PC Clock. The options are:
In. All cards will be set to have being clocked in, requiring and out clocking next.
Out. All cards set to have a out clocking status.
Current. This option will not change the current status of the cards.
Select Ok to send the card information to the TNA PC Clock. The progress bar will identify the percentage of the send process as the information is sent to the TNA PC Clock.
Once the Card information has been sent, you can close the Configuration module and clockings can be performed at the PC Clock.
This configuration must be performed for each computer running TNA PC Clock.
Using TNA PC Clock
When TNA PC Clock is installed, a shortcut will be added to the Startup program which will automatically start the TNA PC Clock program when the computer is started.
A shortcut can also be added to the desktop for ease of access.
Starting PC Clock
To start TNA PC Clock, proceed as follows:
If TNA PC Clock has been started by the computer at startup, a clock icon will be displayed in the taskbar. Clicking on this icon will enable the TNA PC Clock to be displayed.
Check that the ONLINE indicator is illuminated, if not check that the TCP/IP address and Port number have been set correctly and that the TNA Server module is running.
Making Clockings
To make a clocking via TNA PC Clock, proceed as follows:
When the TNA PC Clock is displayed, key in your allocated card number (using the computer’s keyboard or selecting the numbers in the displayed keyboard) and then press the *Enter*key (keyboard entry) or click on the green tick mark key (using the mouse).
If a touch screen monitor is being used, you can enter your card number by touching the required keys on the screen.
Viewing Employee Clockings
When the Employee Clockings are viewed, the Device information for the clocking will identify it using the Description that was used to identify that particular PC Clock.
