The Eco Time System has operating options that, when selected, will define how the system operates. Note: The Server Options that are available will be dependent on the Eco Time System Level and Modules that have been registered.
To open the Update Server Settings window, proceed as follows:
In the Configuration Module, select Server Options from the Setup*dropdown menu or click on the *Edit the Server Options toolbar button and the Update Server Settings window will be displayed.
Using the setting options in the left side panel, the Update Server window provides the following:
Processor. These settings are used to define how system processes are to be performed.
Security. These settings are used to define if audit logs are to be used when manual changes are made to records.
Communications. These settings are used to select how communication between the Eco Time program and the devices are to be managed.
Internet. These settings enable local email and web server options.
Field Names. These settings are additional fields that can be defined for the use of HR requirements.
Processor
The processor options are used to set the system processing options and include:
Speed
Day Time Processor Speed. This is the general speed at which daytime processors will be performed.
Night Time. This option enables you to select the time at night when processing can be performed. This is normally when no normal daily operations are being performed on the system and is normally the best time for the system to perform Eco Time calculations and processors.
Quite Time
During this period the Eco Time modules go quite and close all files. This is also the best time for running external backups.
Auto Delete
These settings option are used to:
Set for how long particular employee information is to be stored (in days) by the system before it is deleted.
Set the times when no deletions are to take place (normal working time and processing time).
Advanced
This option, if selected, allows for multiple Processors to be run on different machines on a network that will then share the processing load.
Security
These settings enable:
Audit Log On. This option will keep a log of all manual changes that are made to system records.
Reasons Required. If changes are made, selecting these options will force reasons to be entered when making changes.
Communications
These options are used to setup the communication between the system and clocks, servers, etc. and includes:
Ports
Default Communications Port. This is the physical computer port that is connected to the hardware (can be from Com1 up to Com9). If not correctly configured the PC will not be able to communicate with the hardware.
Maximum Poll Delay. Even though the clocks are regularly polled automatically to collect outstanding clockings, it is recommended that this delay time (in seconds) between polling be defined to ensure that the clockings are collected. This only applies to off-line clocks, specifically Eco and InfoTime clocks.
Online Poll Delay. The time the communications module waits between polling the clocks.
Online Sync (cstc). The communications can synchronise the CS TimeClock database with that of Eco Time. Set the time between a synchronization (in minutes). 0 will disable automatic synchronization.
ESM IP Address. Enter the IP address for the ESM diagnostic tool.
Clock Time
If daylight saving is used, this option enables you to define when it comes into effect and by how much the time is to be adjusted. This will allow that all the time related data is automatically adjusted by the system and the clocks are reset to the new time.
Access Control
Visitors and Temporary Employee Cards. This option enables you to manage Temporary employee and Visitor card access.
Disable After In Clocking. This option will only allow the card to be used to clock In.
Multiple Clockings. This option enables a card to be used as many times to clock In and Out.
Last Day Access Rights. This option enables the option where, when a card is used for the last time, a defined last clocking requirement (only clock out at security) can be enforced.
Advanced
This option enables the configuration of advanced hardware options that are available when using different hardware types.
Export
Use this option to setup the server to export clockings to an external file as they are collected from your hardware. The export formats available are: None, Pay Global and Preceda.
Enter the export filename and path in the Export File Name: field.
Internet
These setting options enable the local internet server details to be recorded and include:
Email
Here your e-mail address, user name and password are recorded. You can also set up the system that an email can be sent to a particular address when particular functions are performed.
FTP
This window is used to set up the system if a FTP Server is to be used to which information such as reports are to be sent and also if the “Send To” option is to include the FTP option.
Support
Here your support contact information is recorded. This is also the address to which a copy of the system data will be sent when backups are performed.
Web Server
This option is used to set up if the Web Server option is going to be used for viewing information and reports using your standard web browser.
Real-Time Attendance
This option is used to set up the Real-Time Monitor option that provides up-to-date information of employees clockings per employee classification.
Field Names
This option is used to define additional Human Resources fields that are required and will be added to the respective employee classification.
